World Environment Day-2024 Observed at IUBAT

The World Environment Day-2024 observed with vibrant mode in IUBAT on 5 June 2024. This year’s theme is “Land restoration, desertification and drought resilience”. The Department of Environmental Science of IUBAT organized this colorful seminar. On this occasion, there was a National Seminar to celebrate this day. Most of the speakers of this seminar focused on restoration, desertification drought resilience in Bangladesh. There was also the extensive discussion that how IUBAT is moving forward for sustainability issues through course curriculum and community work.

Dr. Susan Vize, UNESCO Representative to Bangladesh was the Chief Guest in this seminar. Mr. Md. Abudul Amlim, General Manager, Windy group was the Special Guest.  However, Prof. Dr, Jubayer-Al-Amhmud from the Shere Bangla Agricultural University was the Guest of Honor. Prof. Selina Nargis the Treasurer and Director of Administration, IUBAT also addressed in this seminar. Prof. Dr. Abdur Rab, Vice Chancellor of IUBAT presided over this ceremony. In addition, Prof. M. Ataur Rahman delivered the welcome speech.  There were couple of research presentations by Associate Professor Dr.  Shafiqul Islam and Associate Professor Dr. Ferdous Ahmed. Finally, the seminar was ended by a vote of thanks that was delivered by Dr. Rimana Islam Papry. More than 100 students from Milestone college were present in this seminar.
