Seminar on Breast Cancer Awareness

A seminar on “Breast Cancer Awareness” was organized by Complaint Committee of IUBAT in association with Ahsania Mission Cancer and General Hospital on 22 October 2018. The program was an effort to create awareness regarding breast cancer through education among the female members of faculty, staff and student. In his presidential speech Prof Dr Abdur Rab, Vice-Chancellor of IUBAT underscored the importance of awareness of breast cancer where early detection may save many lives. Two medical doctors, Dr Sharmin Hossain and Dr Farhana Afrin of Ahsania Mission Cancer and General Hospital gave a presentation on the importance and ways of early detection, treatment and cure. Around 250 female faculty members, staffs and students were present in the seminar and they actively took part in discussion. The question and answer session addressed the immediate concerns of the attending participants. Dr Farjana Sultana, Chair of Complaint Committee in her concluding speech expressed interest for more collaboration to arrange this kind of program at IUBAT and thanked the speakers and participants.
