IUBAT Cooking Competition 2024
IUBAT—International University of Business Agriculture and Technology successfully concluded it’s highly anticipated “IUBAT Cooking Competition 2024” with a thrilling final round held on February 18, 2024, at the prestigious IUBAT Culinary Lab. The completion has been arranged as a part of celebration of IUBAT 33rd Foundation Anniversary 2024. This cooking competition 2024 serves as a testament to the university’s holistic approach to education, emphasizing the importance of practical skills and experiential learning in preparing students for successful careers.
Over 50 candidates from several departments of IUBAT and also participants from local community competed in the first and second rounds of the competition on February 13th and 15th, respectively. Their exhibits, which showcased incredible originality and expertise, captivated both judges and spectators. Following a thorough evaluation, a select panel chose five exceptional contenders to advance to the Final Round, indicating an expected display of culinary ingenuity and innovation.
The atmosphere was charged with excitement and anticipation as the finalists embarked on a culinary journey, each striving to outshine the others with their unique flavors and presentations. From traditional delicacies to contemporary fusion dishes, the Final Round encompasses of culinary delights, reflecting the rich tapestry of gastronomic heritage. The competition not only celebrated culinary excellence but also fostered camaraderie among participants, who exchanged ideas and techniques, enriching the culinary landscape of the event.
Honourable Vice Chancellor of IUBAT, Professor Dr Abdur Rab was the President of the Ceremony. Mr. Mohammad Ali, Executive Director, United College of Aviation Science and Management expressed his delight at the overwhelming success of the event, stating, “The IUBAT Cooking Competition 2024 has once again demonstrated the exceptional talent and creativity within our university community. Mr. Kamrul Hasan Mondol, Managing Partner, Blossom Hotel, Dhaka attended in the prize giving ceremony as Special Guest.
In the culmination of a riveting display of talent and skill, the esteemed judge, Mr. Jewel Rozario, renowned for his roles as Judge of the Royal Bengal Master Organization Competition in India and as the hosting Chef of Jomuna TV, ATN Bangla, and My TV Bangladesh, as well as his tenure as the former Sous Chef of Platinum Hotels by Sheltech, proudly declared Mr. Anisur Rahman from the Department of Civil Engineering as the deserving victor. Following closely behind, Md Murad Hossain from the College of Tourism and Hospitality Management clinched the first runners-up position, while Ms. Munny Talukder from the College of Business Administration emerged as the second runners-up.
The event concluded with a prize giving ceremony at IUBAT open auditorium, where participants were honored for their dedication and hard work. The IUBAT Cooking Competition 2024 stands as a testament to the university’s commitment to promoting excellence in culinary education and nurturing the talents of aspiring chef.
