Calls for Applications: the International Design Education program in LDCs By 30 April 2021

Call for the Least Developed Countries (LDCs): Apply for the Master’s program in International Design Education and receive a full scholarship from the International School of Design at Zhejiang University in Ningbo, China.

The industrial design offers great potential for LDCs as a driver of innovation, problem-solving and economic growth. The United Nations Technology Bank for Least Developed Countries, World Eco-Design Conference, and the International School of Design at Zhejiang University in Ningbo, China, are excited to cooperate and promote the implementation of the International Design Education (IDE) program.

Under this partnership, eligible students from the world’s 46 LDCs will be supported to undertake industrial design training. The International School of Design, Zhejiang University, will facilitate the IDE program, which will provide master education and research on industrial design.

The IDE program is also an incubator for bridging innovation and entrepreneurship by transforming exceptional projects and research into start-ups and supporting them to innovate and grow by providing business support resources and services, resulting in closer access to manufacturing and business.

The IDE program is completed in two and a half academic years, offered in English with two scholarship levels for LDCs applicants. Full scholarship covers full tuition fee, on-campus accommodation expenses, comprehensive medical insurance, admission fee and monthly stipend. Partial scholarship covers full tuition fee, comprehensive medical insurance, admission fee and monthly stipend

Students with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in any major can apply by logging into the International Student Application & Admissions System of Zhejiang University, fill in the online application form and upload all supporting materials and submit their application materials to nbxq010@zju.edu.cn before 30th April 2021.
