Miyan Research Institute Functions
- Offers sparks of insights for best practices, and facilitate innovation, creative activity, invention and the application and dissemination of existing and new knowledge
- Conducts training programs for researchers
- Organizes institutional, national and international research seminars and conferences. The Institute organizes seminars, symposium, workshop, congress, conferences, and group discussion by its own personnel, local resource person or guests invited from outside. Topics are chosen on the basis of interests shown by IUBAT faculties, student groups on current and contemporary issues of national and international perspective.
- Rewards outstanding researchers
- Ignites the spirit of conducting independent research by the young and experienced faculty members of IUBAT through an open, objective and transparent process on need based and problem oriented areas of natural resources and endowments
- Contributes towards development of a pluralistic multidisciplinary research system by involving enthusiastic faculties and students.
- Promotes research partnerships and collaboration with the government agencies, private sector agencies and the international multidisciplinary research center through arrangement of grants, donation and/or co-financing agreements
- Makes multi-disciplinary research more demand-driven by involving the stake holders ( such as farmers, industries, hospitals, etc. ) and the end users ( such as clients/consumers).
- Invites research proposals from the faculty members, allocate funds to deserving ones and rationally utilize the annual research fund obtained from the university.
- Assesses and monitors successful projects which receive grants for work implementation
- At the assessment level, all applicant will give seminar to justify their respective projects. A midterm seminar and a concluding seminar will also be given to acknowledge the progress and findings, respectively. After the concluding seminar, the faculty will prepare a write up as manuscript for a journal of choice. The journal must be an indexed journal or IUBAT Review.
- Provides all sorts of help and assistance to a project winning faculty as and when required at the implementation level
- Maintains its accounts of income and expenditure on a fiscal year basis.
- Invites groups of students belonging to secondary levels to visit laboratories of their liking or open laboratories of agriculture and accomplish or onlook experiments befitting their curricula.
- Organizes science fair for school and college students belonging to adjoin educational institutes including diploma awarding center.
- The Institute in response to local or international advertisements makes arrangements such that the IUBAT faculties can apply and contest for research grants tendered by government or non government organizations or international bodies.
- Keeps accounts of national disaster such as chemical explosion, technological disaster, and agricultural calamity.
- Publishes the journal titled IUBAT Review— a multidisciplinary academic journal.
- Regularly updates the database on faculty members’ areas of specialization in research and publications.
