Death Anniversary of the Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman
IUBAT observed the 48th martyrdom anniversary of Bangladesh’s founding president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning Day on Monday, 15 August 2022 with solemnity. To mark the day, the National Flag was hoisted in the morning and kept at half-mast at IUBAT. The university arranged a discussion session and Doa Mahifil to pay homage to the Father of the Nation and other martyrs of his family. Moreover, the IUBAT community participated in prayers for the eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabondhu and his family who were brutally killed on August 15, 1975.
Prof Dr Abdur Rab, the Vice Chancellor of IUBAT, was present in the event as the Chief Guest. In his speech, he said, ‘If the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had not brought independence to our country, we would not have this beautiful country today. As a nation, we could not stand in front of the whole world with pride. Keeping his ideals, his privileged daughter Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is taking our country forward to new heights among all countries in the world.’
The Exam Controlar Dr Zahid Hossain, Dean College of Agricultural Sciences Prof Dr Md Shohidullah Mia, Director of IQAC Prof. Dr. Khandoker Saif Uddin, the Registrar Prof. Dr Md Lutfar Rahman and other speakers glorified the life and work of Bangabandhu and his family in their speech. Among others the dean of Different colleges, Chairs, Coordinators, teachers, officers staffs and students of the University were present to pay homage.
