Campus Life – Arts and Culture
Festivals: The University Cultural Affairs Committee plans and presents a wide variety of professional performing arts programs to both students and community members on different occasions. The cultural programs bring the whole community in a platform where all the members of the university community and the visitors develop stronger rapport among themselves that ultimately enhances the scopes of better academic and administrative achievements. Within the constraints of the tri-semester based education system involving year round academic activities, the university organizes cultural evening in every semester as part of the orientation program for freshmen. Cultural programs are also organized to observe the Language Martyrs Day (21st February), Pahela Baishakh, Basanta Utsav, Nazrul Jayanti, Rabindra Jayanti, and other ceremonies where the performances are mostly carried out by the students of the University. We also observe the National Days of our international students to exchange cultural diversities and thus we enhance bonding among ourselves and create an environment where students grow due respect and tolerance towards other cultures.
Students Rock: All of our endeavors are for our beloved students whom we always want to see full of vigor. Our students take part in all festivals and events with great enthusiasm. There are a number of groups of performers who refill our energy with their flamboyant performances in different occasions. Professional and energetic performances and the cheers of audience create a blissful atmosphere in every occasion.
Freedom Fighters Corner: We believe that culture remains incomplete without the study of a nation’s history and its significant events. The University cherishes the glorious history of Liberation War. The founder, who had deep passion towards liberation war, himself is from a freedom fighter’s family. His brother Late Col (Retd) Md. Shafique Ullah Bīr Pratīk was a great freedom fighter. We have a Freedom Fighters Corner at IUBAT where we have preserved many invaluable and rare documents (books, magazines, photos, struggle of Bangladesh in pictures, etc.) on Liberation War. The corner is known as “Freedom, Freedom Is Life”. We educate our students to be patriot by familiarizing them with the significant events and documents of liberation war
