IUBAT Observed Mass Killing Day and Independence Day
Mass Killing Day and Independence Day of Bangladesh were observed at the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) on Sunday, 27 March 2022. On March 26, 1971, the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman declared the independence of Bangladesh from the clutch of 23 years of colonial rule of Pakistan.
While speaking in the program, Special guest Prof Dr Hamida Akther Begum- Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof Md Lutfar Rahman-Registrar, Brig Gen Dr Md Zahid Hossain (Retd)- Controller of Examinations, Prof Dr Md Monirul Islam- Dean College of Engineering and Technology, Dr M Sayadur Rahman-professor of College of Agricultural Sciences, Mr A K M Sharfuddin- Director, Alumni Affairs. emphasized the sacrifice and contributions of Muktijoddhas and brave leadership of the Father of the Nation. The speakers shared their real-life experiences from the mass killing day and Independence Day. In his presidential speech, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Abdur Rab said that the people of Bangladesh valiantly fought for the independence of the country but we must now fight for economic emancipation to hand over the benefits of independence to the common people. The program was participated by students, faculty, officers, and staff of IUBAT.
