IUBAT Celebrates Nobanno-1428
IUBAT celebrated Nobanno-1428. College of Agricultural Sciences (CAS), IUBAT organized the Nobanno on 16 November 2021. On this eve, the campus was decorated with colorful traditional portraits and so many stalls decorated with Bangladeshi local pithas and pasties were organized by students of agricultural sciences of the university. Three stalls were ranked 1st, 2nd and 3rd and were awarded with prizes. The awards were handed over by the Vice-Chancellor.
The program was inaugurated through cutting the ribbon by IUBAT Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Abdur Rab, Treasurer & Director Administration Prof Selina Nargis. Agriculture Dean Prof Dr. M Shohidullah Miah spoke on the sublime history of Nobanno Utshob and the role of agriculture. Special guest Mr. Sudhir Chandra Nath, Business Director, ACI Seed highlighted the importance of smart agriculture for sustainable development. Dr. Md. Tofazzal Islam, Professor, BSMRAU, emphasized research on agriculture adding the role of private universities. Dr Islam also spoke on the possibilities of BSMRAU-IUBAT cooperation in agricultural research, laboratory development and exchange visits.
Prof. Rezaul Karim Siddique, Anchor, Mati-O-Manush, BTV, gave an overview of the past and present of culture and agriculture in Bangladesh.
IUBAT Treasurer and Director of Administration Prof Selina Nargis spoke on the strong relations between Nobanno and Bengali culture and thanked IUBAT CAS for upholding our culture by organizing such an important Bengali festival on a regular basis.
Dr. Farjana Sultana, Coordinator and Associate Professor of CAS offered thanks to the president, special guest, the guests of honor, dean, faculties, organizing committee and students for their participation and contribution in making the program a success. The program was followed by a cultural program reflecting the nobanno tradition of Bangladesh.
