Human Chain for Women’s Safety

On 23rd  of January, 2020 a human chain was formed in front of IUBAT with the cadets of IUBAT BNCC Platoon and general students of IUBAT to ensure women’s safety from sexual harassment. The platoon commander of IUBAT BNCC PLATOON M. M. Rakibul Hasan along with Cadet Lcpl Naimur Rahaman Ashik and other students from different departments led the program.
Cadets, general students and faculty members were standing for 2 hours on the two sides of the Dhaka-Ashulia highway road to highlight the need of safety and security for women. With their placards and symbolic processions they showed that women’s safety is at risk due to increasing sexual atrocities in public places in our society though we have strict laws. So, mass awareness is needed to bring any positive change in the country. Brig Gen Dr Md Zahid Hossain (Retd), the examination controller of IUBAT and other dignitaries gave speech for raising awareness to Ensure Women’s Safety. At the end of the

human chain, everyone left the place wishing to have a nice morning someday when newspapers will not carry any bad news and will bring stories of successful and happy women.
