Celebration of Nobanno Utshob-1426
The College of Agricultural Sciences (CAS), IUBAT celebrated Nobanno Utshob-1426 on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at IUBAT premises.
A day long ceremony observed by a seminar on ” Nobanno: Our Culture and Heritage”; Nobanno Food Fest (Pitha-Puli Utshob) followed by Cultural Gala and Raffle Draw. Mr. Md. Shah Alam, Director, Finance and Administration, Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) was present as representative of the Chief Guest, Director General of DAE in the occasion. In the seminar Prof. Dr. Mujibur Rahman Khan was the key note speaker and Prof. Dr. M A Hannan, Prof. Dr. Anil Chandra Basak, Prof. Dr. Ismail Hossain, Prof. Dr. Jiban Krishna Biswas participated as discussants. The Honorable Pro Vice-Chancellor of IUBAT Professor Dr. Hamida Akhtar Begum presided over the seminar and also opened the Nobanno Food Fest along with the guest.
The entire campus of IUBAT was decorated colorfully with the Bengali Culture and Tradition by the CAS students. There were fourteen stalls showcased Pitha–Pulli and other handicrafts in this festival.
The renowned Novelist and Editor of the Daily Newspaper “Kaler Kantho” Mr. Imdadul Haque Milon was the Chief Guest in the Cultural Program and Prize Giving Ceremony and Prof. Selina Nargis, Treasurer and Director Administration of IUBAT presided the program.
All the faculty members, staffs and students of CAS actively participated in the ceremony and brought it to a grand success. For great contribution in this program a title Nobanno Princes was given to BSAg 10th semester student Swarnali Karmaker on that day.
This colorful ‘Nababnno Utsab’ was organized by Prof. Dr. M A Hannan, Prof. Dr. Ismail Hossain, Dr. Ferdous Ahmed and Dr. Abul Khair under the guidance of Dr. Farjana Sultana, the Dean (In-charge) of CAS.
