31th Foundation Anniversary Celebration

IUBAT is celebrating its 31st foundation anniversary through monthlong programs of co-curricular and extracurricular activities. The celebration was formally inaugurated at 10:00 AM on January 16, 2022 and the activities shall continue until February 15, 2022.

The celebration began with hoisting of flags along with national anthem, releasing balloons and placing floral wreath at the grave of the IUBAT Founder late Prof Dr M Alimullah Miyan.

The Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Mr Mustafa Jabbar graced the inaugural ceremony as the Chief Guest. IUBAT Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Abdur Rab presided over the inauguration ceremony. Engineering and Technology Dean Prof Dr. Md. Monirul Islam, Agricultural Science Dean Prof Dr Md Shohidullah Miah, Business Administration Dean Prof. Dr. Khair Jahan Sogra, Examinations Controller Brig Gen Dr Md Zahid Hossain (Retd), Registrar Prof Md. Lutfar Rahman and Deputy Registrar Mr Rabiul Islam shared the history, success, steady growth and future prospects of the university.

Chief Guest Mr Mustafa Jobbar praised the pioneering initiative of Prof Dr M Alimullah Miyan in establishing IUBAT as the first private university in Bangladesh and its achievements over last 31 years. He expressed optimism that the IUBAT shall continue to align higher education in line with the 4thindustrial revolution so that efficient human resources are developed to lead the digital revolution in Bangladesh and around the world.

The month long programs on the occasion shall include research seminars, workshops, competitions, debates, blood donation, traditional ceremonies, national and international day observances.

IUBAT is committed to realize the vision of producing at least one professional graduate from each village of Bangladesh and efforts in this connection shall be accelerated in the coming years. In his presidential address, the Vice-Chancellor shared the IUBAT Vision 2025 and the major goals to be achieved. While students and graduates have representation from 536 Upazilas of Bangladesh, the university has enlarged the initiatives outside the country, and presently over a hundred students from 12 countries are studying nationally and internationally accredited programs at IUBAT’s lash green modern campus. IUBAT ranks second in Bangladesh in the 2021 UI Green Metric World University Rankings and ranks 294thout of 957 universities in 69 countries around the world. IUBAT has also been ranked among the top 50 universities in the world in terms of ethical standards in the 2021 WRI (World Universities with Real Impact) rankings.
